Speaker: Kyla Armstrong Romero, Aurora Public Schools Board of Education
Bio: Dr. Kyla Armstrong-Romero is the President of the Aurora Public School Board. She was elected to the Board of Education in November 2017. During her time on the Board, she has championed for student achievement, more community voice, equity, inclusivity, and a Board focused on student outcomes with specific results and limitations policies. In addition to serving on the Board, Dr. Armstrong-Romero also works for the Colorado Department of Human Services as the Office of Economic Securities Director of Staff Development. Dr. Armstrong-Romero is an Associate Professor at Colorado Technical University teaching a variety of subjects to include Human Services, Criminal Justice, and Sociology.
Dr. Armstrong-Romero lives in Aurora with her husband, eleven year old “bonus” son, one year old twin boys, and five week old son. She enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with family.
